National Highways have informed us of the following planned road closures for M3 / A323 Fleet Road essential bridge maintenance:

We have been informed of planned overnight maintenance works to the M3 bridge over Fleet Road (A323) which might affect local residents and businesses.

The existing paintwork is reaching the end of its life and fresh paint is needed to protect
the bridge against severe weather and prevent any serious rust damage.

Work is due to start on 8th August 2022 and is expected to last until October 2022. These works will not affect motorway traffic.  Fleet Road (A323) will be closed between Pale Lane (north of the M3) and the Elvetham Heath roundabout on weekdays between 9pm and 6am in both directions.

A diversion route will be clearly marked – please see diversion route here.

Before work starts, they will also need to survey this section of road and will be doing this
overnight on Monday 27 June between 9pm and 6am. The same diversion route will be
in place.

South East Water will be working in the area at the same time.
To keep disruption to a minimum, a coordinated diversion will be in place around both sets of works. Further information about this project can be found at
