HW & District Over 55s

The Forum has been set up to support people to remain independent in their own homes and to provide opportunities for social contact. It seeks to support people with advice, finding assistance with mail, jobs, shopping, prescriptions or to avoid loneliness.

Each month an activity is organised. Alternate months there is a forum with a speaker on a Tuesday morning, followed by buffet lunch and the other month a film on a Sunday afternoon with home-made cakes. For both functions transport can be arranged.

Each year to celebrate National Older People’s Day the Forum holds a celebratory lunch with entertainment. The Forum has a page each month in Contact Magazine magazine, where monthly activity is advertised and the opportunity is taken to update residents with national or local changes which may affect daily life!

Should there be a national or local questionnaire, the Forum ensures hard copies are available for those who do not have a digital facility.
